In 92 days, we will reunite in Rothbury. Welcoming MOBY (dj set), Schoolboy Q, Kaytranada, Kastle, The Floozies, Eric Volta, What So Not, Francesca Lombardo, S/HE and more incredibly talented artists to the lineup, with more still to come!
Just adding to the incredible lineup. It’s so perfect. People will always complain, but for me this lineup is perfect. The music is all incredible but they’ve found lesser-known names to fill out the lineup. This means the “OMG I WANNA SEE ____ SO BADLY, I’M GONNA GO TO FOREST JUST TO SEE THEM” crowd will be minimized and the crowd that actually cares about the music will show up.
My list of want-to-sees in order of appearance:
SCI (x3), STS9 (x2), Cut Copy, Glitch Mob, Stephen Marley, EOTO, Anders Osborne, Bombino, Cherub, Conspirator, Emancipator Ensemble, Earphunk, Jon Wayne & The Pain, Kygo, Lindsay Lowend, Moon Taxi, Nahko, Papdosio, Poolside, Rising Appalachia, Soul Visions, Syd Arthur, Floozies, Xavier Rudd, Zoogma
Maybes: Lauryn Hill, Matt & Kim, Bob Moses, Dead Confederate, Dusky, K Theory, Los Rakas, Luke The Knife, Moon Boots, S/He, Seven Lions, Sister Sparrow, St. Lucia, T. Hardy Morris, The Revivalists, Thomas Jack, Until the Ribbon Breaks,What So Not
Now that I’ve listed them out, I’ve listed almost the entire lineup…damnit it’s so good.
"That said, Lennox describes the new tracks […] as ‘break-centric’ and constructed out of samples of self-made sounds rather than other people’s work, lending the album a more ‘hectic, overloaded’ feeling. […] Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper is meant as a celebration of the fact that new growth sometimes requires death.”
“Along with a Slasher Flicks tour this spring, Portner is aiming to rejoin with Animal Collective and put out a new record ‘some time next year,’ and is thinking about a proper solo follow-up to Down There consisting of unreleased material that he tested out on the road while touring behind that album.”
